Ventures LLC. We are looking for a visionary Director of
Engineering to lead our engineering team, drive technical
excellence, and ensure the successful delivery of our product
roadmap. This role will be instrumental in shaping our technical
strategy and scaling our engineering practices as we continue to
expand. Job Overview: As the Director of Engineering, you will
oversee all aspects of our engineering operations, including team
management, technical direction, and project execution. This is a
hands-on leadership opportunity where you will work with
developers, solve cutting edge engineering problems, and drive
cross-functional scrum teams within an agile program to deliver
high quality software. You will work closely with product
management, design, and other cross-functional leaders to align
engineering initiatives with business goals. Your leadership will
empower the engineering team to deliver high-quality, scalable, and
maintainable software solutions while fostering a culture of
continuous improvement and innovation. Key Responsibilities:
- Technology Leadership:Work with engineers and bring expertise
in building large platforms, direct good architecture building,
systems design and ability to foresee future technology needs.
Provide hands-on guidance in architecture, system design, and
problem-solving. Advocate for innovative approaches to drive
product scalability, performance, and security.
- Engineering Operations & Process Optimization:Establish and
refine engineering processes to improve efficiency, quality, and
speed of delivery. Implement best practices in code quality,
testing, deployment, and DevOps to ensure operational excellence.
Use data and metrics to evaluate engineering performance, identify
areas for improvement, and inform decision-making. Regularly report
on engineering progress, successes, and challenges to
leadership.
- Team Leadership & Development:Recruit, mentor, and develop a
high-performing engineering team. Foster a culture of
collaboration, accountability, and technical excellence. Ensure
individual and team growth through coaching, training, and
feedback.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:Partner with product management,
design, and other stakeholders to ensure engineering efforts are
aligned with product priorities and business needs. Drive effective
communication across teams to achieve strategic goals.
- Project & Resource Management:Oversee project timelines,
resource allocation, and team performance. Ensure that engineering
projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality
standards.
- Budgeting & Resource Planning:Manage engineering budgets,
resources, and capacity planning to ensure efficient project
execution. Collaborate with executive leadership to make strategic
investment decisions in technology and tools.
- Technical Strategy & Roadmap Execution:Help Define and
implement a scalable engineering roadmap aligned with the company's
product vision and business objectives. Identify technical trends
and innovations to ensure our products remain competitive and
forward-thinking. Requirements:
- Experience:14+ years of experience in software engineering,
with 5+ years in a leadership role (e.g., Director, VP). Experience
in a software product development environment is highly
preferred.
- Education:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science,
Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications
in leadership or engineering management are a plus.
- Technical Expertise:Strong technical background with hands-on
experience in full stack software development. Deep understanding
of client-server engineering, Knowledge of modern tech stacks,
software architecture, cloud technologies. Specific knowledge of
Spring Boot applications in Java, Javascript, React, Flutter,
Kotlin, Swift, Kerberos, and related technologies is a plus.
- Leadership & People Management:Proven track record of building,
mentoring, and leading high-performance engineering teams. Ability
to inspire, motivate, and create a positive work environment.
- Strategic Thinking:Skilled at balancing long-term strategy with
short-term execution. Strong ability to prioritize, assess risks,
and make informed decisions.
- Problem-Solving & Innovation:Proactive in identifying issues
and solving complex technical problems. Experience with scalable
software systems and solutions for complex, data-driven
products.
- Communication & Collaboration:Exceptional communication skills
with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with
cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Experience presenting
strategies and updates to executive leadership.
