Next Stage Design + Build is a company with a 20 year track

designs, high quality construction and top level client
satisfaction to our upscale homeowner clients in the Silicon Valley
region of the South Francisco Bay Area. As the company evolves into
an employee-owned 30 person company, we are seeking a Production
Manager to lead and direct our in-house 10 person production team
consisting of project managers, supervisors, craftspeople, and a
production coordinator in a manner that ensures high quality
finished residential remodeling projects for our homeowner clients
and profitable business growth. The Production Manager is
responsible for overseeing and monitoring departmental operational
effectiveness, compliance, and safety standards and protocols of
the construction of residential remodeling and repair projects for
the company. They also provide direction, coordination, and
evaluation of their staff members, including recruiting and
training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work;
appraising performance; coaching and rewarding employees;
addressing their concerns and resolving problems in accordance with

STRATEGIC AND OPERATIONS PLANNING Key results for operations
planning include the presence of well structure strategic and
operational plans for the production organization over a
2-to-3-year timeframe aligned with the company business objectives
and demonstrated teamwork with other staff members. Specific
responsibilities include: --- Actively participate in strategic
direction setting for the company as a key member of the leadership
team. --- Determine the operational strategy for the production
function. --- Make recommendations for staffing, equipment, and
other resources to improve operational effectiveness. --- Key role
in the effort to plan the delivery of new service offerings for
clients. --- Manage the monthly budget for the production team
ensuring adherence to targets. --- Drive the strategy and structure
for the internal workforce based on our financial goals. ---
Determine the need for alliances with and the roles of trade
partners. --- Determine the balance and mix of craftspeople,
laborers, drivers, helpers, project managers, and administrative
staff. --- Track the health and effectiveness of production
processes and facilitate improvement efforts and drive changes
throughout the organization. --- Determines production strategy and
standards for use of project management software (BuilderTrend).
--- Build and maintain alignment with partner functions in design,
project development (sales), finance, and admin. STAFF SUPERVISION
AND TRAINING Key results for staff supervision include successful
development, coaching, direction, and guidance of the HRS staff,
Production Coordinator, and Project Managers, and coordination to
ensure supervisory responsibilities are carried out in accordance
with organizational policies and procedures. DESIGN PHASE (THROUGH
PROJECT MANAGERS) --- Ensure and oversee plan reviews,
subcontracts, proposals, and estimates of larger (typically >
$25K projects). --- Provide assistance directly and indirectly to
the Design staff with respect to ensure buildable projects that
meet schedule and budget constraints. --- Assist Project Developers
and Project Estimator with pre-contract pricing of materials and
subcontractors on an as requested and as available basis. ---
Ensure that risk assessments and pre-sales and mechanical
walkthroughs are held prior to contract finalization of these
projects. --- May participate in sales calls in a pre-planning
agreement phase especially when construction knowledge is required.
PRE-PRODUCTION PHASE (THROUGH PROJECT MANAGERS) --- Ensure that
specifications of contracts and drawings are reviewed and maintains
a high-level flowchart of all project schedules based on the start
and completion dates, material delivery dates, and sub-contractor
availability for each phase of construction across all projects.
--- Supervise the pre-construction walkthrough process with Project
Developers, Designers, and/or subcontractors prior to sale of job
to ensure accuracy and mutual understanding of project scope on
large scope or highly custom design/build projects. --- Supervise
the process for securing building permits, follows up by making
sure all work is up to code, and arranges for projects to be
inspected. --- Oversee the process to ensure construction
compatibility for special order material orders for projects to
enable scheduling for subcontractors and the field team. PRODUCTION
PHASE (THROUGH PROJECT MANAGERS) Key results for the production
phase activities are based on performance measurements which
include providing profitable revenue produced vs. target or plan,
on time completion of projects, a successful Gross Profit vs.
estimated GP on closed projects, successful warranty costs vs.
target, and the ability to obtain consistently high Guild Quality
customer satisfaction scores with successfully completed projects,
and employee satisfaction as measured by feedback. --- Direct
activity and/or provide supervisory responsibility for Project
Managers, Project Supervisors, Production Coordinator(s), and
Driver(s) or Assistant HRS team members. --- Visits jobsites
regularly to check on the progress, and to ensure proper flow of
project. --- Works closely with the Production Coordinator and
Accounting Dept to monitor schedules and budgets. --- Communicate
daily with the production team and regularly meets with clients as
needed to discuss project status/expectations, respond to
questions, issues, or concerns, as well as communicate regularly to
keep the client and sales/design team informed. --- Promotes
harmonious relations among clients, project designers, remodeling
consultants, sub-contractors and carpenters by maintaining close
communication. --- Assist with contract addendums as appropriate.
--- Ensure a substantial completion walk-through is performed with
the client on all projects. --- Oversees the process to respond to
callbacks from previous clients and schedules warranty work if
needed. --- Analyze gross profit and variance reports and
facilitate jobs reviews on all completed projects SAFETY OVERSIGHT
Key result for safety oversight includes supervision of workplace
safety standards and programs in both the office and field,
assistance and oversight in the development and maintenance of
comprehensive safety programs as well coordination of
organizational and project safety standards. Employment Type: Full
