engineers. Carollo's infrastructure engineers specialize in
challenging projects outside of the treatment plant, including: the
planning and design of water/wastewater pipelines, pump stations,
trenchless pipelines, pipeline seismic retrofits, deep wastewater
pump stations, river intakes, and many other diverse projects.At

career.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities (vary dependent upon hiring
level):Engineer-in-Training:
- Serve as an engineer on the planning, design, construction,
and/or commissioning of water, wastewater, and stormwater
infrastructure projects
- Perform data entry and analysis
- Perform system modeling and hydraulic calculations to size and
select facilities
- Prepare cost estimates
- Perform permitting and alternatives analysis
- Prepare technical memoranda, reports, plans and specifications,
and other deliverables
- Perform engineering services during construction, including
reviewing contractor submittals for conformance with contract
documents and contractor requests for information
- Participate in field activities, such as site visits,
overseeing field work, and pilot testing
- Travel may be required depending on the project assignment but
most projects are local.Professional Engineer through Senior
Engineer additional responsibilities could include:
- Registration as a Professional Engineer
- Experience delivering and managing water/wastewater
infrastructure projects with partial responsibility for budget,
schedule, contract obligations, and quality standards
- Ability to deliver high quality services within budget and
schedule constraints
- Assist with coordinating sub-consultant work
- May serve as project manager on small to medium sized projects
and would assume all project manager responsibilities.
- Assist project manager with the planning, scheduling,
coordinating, supervising, and reviewing of the work of the project
team, including: environmental, civil, structural, mechanical,
electrical, and instrumentation/controls engineers; drafters,
technicians; technical experts; and subconsultants
- Assist project manager with meeting budget, schedule, and
quality goals
- Perform data analysis, system modeling, and hydraulic
calculations to size and select facilities
- Contribute to a culture of effective communication among
project teams, clients, partners, and other stakeholders
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, especially at
the staff level
- Assist with proposal preparation, including development of
scopes of work and engineering fee estimates
- Provide on-the-job training and mentoring of project staff and
entry level engineersQualificationsQualifications (vary dependent
upon hiring level):
- Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related
engineering field. Masters degree in engineering is preferred.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of
California and/or Hawaii or EIT Certification or passed FE
exam
- Ability to apply critical thinking, analysis, and innovative
techniques to develop options and recommendations to solve
technical problems
- Active in professional associations, including attendance and
participation in local, regional, and national conferences
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and project
teams
- Work well in a team environment
- Highly motivated and self-starting
- Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPointPreferred
QualificationsEducation and Experience (vary dependent upon hiring
level):
- Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering. Masters in
engineering is preferred.
- Engineer-in-Training: 0-4 years of experience in planning,
design, and/or construction of water/wastewater infrastructure
projects
- Professional Engineer: 4-8 years of experience
- Mid-level Engineer: 6-12 years of experience
- Senior level Engineer: 12+ years of experiencePay Range$60,000
to $190,000 annually. Range varies dependent upon hiring level.
This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we
would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may
ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range
may be modified in the future. An employee's pay within the salary
range will be based on several factors including, but limited to,
relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience,
skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business
