POSITION SUMMARY
As a Senior Director, IT Business Partner for the G&A (General
& Administrative) organization, you will play a pivotal role in
aligning IT strategies with the business objectives of key
functions such as Finance, Accounting, Procurement, Legal, and
Human Resources. This is a hands-on role where you will be the
primary IT liaison, driving strategic technology initiatives and
ensuring that IT services are delivered effectively to meet the
evolving needs of G&A for a dynamic biopharma company. This
role will report to the VP, IT, and work as an individual
contributor. This is a hybrid role that will require 3 days in the
office (2 core days, 1 flex day).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic Partnership: Act as a trusted advisor to G&A
business leaders, proactively identifying opportunities to leverage
technology in achieving organizational goals. Align IT strategies
with the business roadmap to support long-term growth and
operational excellence.
- Technology Strategy & Planning: Lead the development and
execution of technology strategies that drive innovation and
efficiency across G&A functions. Keep abreast of industry
trends and emerging technologies to inform future planning and
investment decisions.
- Requirements & Solution Design: Collaborate closely with
business units to understand their needs, gather detailed
requirements, and translate them into actionable IT solutions.
Ensure that technical teams are equipped with clear and
comprehensive specifications.
- Project Leadership: Oversee the end-to-end delivery of IT
projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on
budget. Coordinate cross functional teams, manage resources, and
maintain clear communication with stakeholders throughout the
project lifecycle.
- Vendor & Partner Management: Evaluate and manage relationships
with external vendors and service providers. Negotiate contracts,
monitor performance, and ensure that services are delivered in
accordance with agreed upon standards and SLAs.
- Compliance & Security: Ensure that IT systems and processes
comply with relevant industry regulations, including SOX, and
maintain the highest standards of data security. Implement measures
to protect sensitive information and ensure business
continuity.
- Change Management: Lead organizational change efforts related
to IT initiatives, ensuring that business stakeholders are
informed, engaged, and supported throughout transitions. Address
challenges that impact scope, budget, and timeline, and work
towards timely resolution.
- Audit Support: Collaborate with external auditors to manage
IT-related audits, including preparing and organizing audit
documentation, access control reports, IT policies, and security
protocols.
- Financial Stewardship: Partner with Finance and IT leadership
to develop and manage the IT budget for G&A functions. Monitor
expenditures, identify cost saving opportunities, and optimize
investments in technology.
- Leadership & Influence: Cultivate a culture of innovation,
collaboration, and continuous improvement. Build strong
relationships across the organization, inspire teams, and foster an
environment where feedback and learning are actively
encouraged.
REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science,
or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications
(e.g., ITIL, PMP) are highly desirable.
Experience
- 12+ years of experience in IT management or business
partnering, with a proven track record of aligning technology with
business goals in a dynamic environment and more than 5 years
working in the Pharmaceuticals or Life Sciences industry.
- Deep experience collaborating with business partners across
Finance, Accounting, Procurement, Legal, and HR, with a strong
understanding of the specific needs of these functions.
- Expertise in digital transformation, including ERP
implementations such as NetSuite, and a thorough understanding of
the software development lifecycle.
- Experience working in public companies, with a strong
understanding of IT general controls, cybersecurity practices and
ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Experience working with auditors and managing IT-related
audits.
- Familiarity with IT platforms and systems commonly used in the
life sciences industry, and a strong understanding of the unique
challenges and opportunities in this sector.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to bridge
technical and nontechnical audiences, and influence stakeholders at
all levels.
- Demonstrated success in managing IT projects from conception to
delivery, with strong project management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles and data privacy
regulations, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards
of data protection.
- Proven experience in vendor negotiation and management, with a
focus on delivering value and maintaining strong
partnerships.
- Analytical and strategic thinker, with the ability to solve
complex problems and drive business outcomes through innovative
technology solutions.
Travel - up to 20%
The target salary range for this full-time role is $250,000 -
$300,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Structure Therapeutics
determines salary ranges based on level and scope of
responsibilities, as well as location. Individual pay is further
determined by additional factors, including relevant experience,
specific job skills, education, and training. More details about
